An exciting opportunity has arisen for a community based phlebotomist to join our locality to support the DN and Anticoagulation teams and housebound patients with their venepuncture requirements. 

The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously, managing their own workload (with support) and be a car driver with access to a car. You will be expected to visit patients in their own homes to take required bloods tests and deliver them back to the collection points in a timely manner.

Undertake Community Phlebotomy for housebound patients in their own
home who are unable to attend their GP Practice
Support nursing team members with delivery of patient care
Support and liaise with Doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team
Process various specimens appropriately
Undertake blood pressure measurements and record correctly
Perform INR tests and work within standing operating procedure to deliver near patient testing service.
Undertake other clinical duties at discretion of lead nurse i.e. performing
ECG’s.
Ensure evidence based practice is delivered within scope of professional
practice

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.  Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
