Job overview
The North Yorkshire and York CAMHS Eating Disorders team are looking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Lead Psychologist to provide clinical leadership, and ensure the delivery of a high quality and effective service.
Applicants will be required to have post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical / counselling / forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS and be registered in as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC. Significant experience and competencies in delivering and supervising evidence based psychological intervention is essential.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be based in either York or Harrogate but be expected to work across the North Yorkshire and York locality.
A key part of the role is to provide direct clinical work, promote psychological thinking with all members of the team by helping staff to develop formulations for clients, offering supervision and joint work with the team, supporting staff wellbeing and providing training in psychological theory and its implementation.
The post holder will be expected to attend trust, regional and national events. Leadership and service improvement experience and skills are therefore essential. .
The successful candidate will have significant experience of working psychologically with people who experience severe mental health problems and competencies in an evidence based psychological therapy. They will contribute to the collective clinical leadership of the service. The post holder will contribute to service development and improvement within the locality and the professional leadership of psychological professions.

We provide excellent opportunities for peer support/supervision, CPD, teaching/training, and research and audit in line with strategic developments. There are also strong links to the local Clinical Psychology Training Courses as we are key providers of academic and clinical experience components both in terms of teaching and supervision.

Essential criteria
- Post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical/counselling psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS

- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
- Evidence of continuing professional development

- Must have substantial experience of:Working as a qualified applied psychologist within the designated service including a full range of clinical severity
- Liaison and joint working with statutory, voluntary and private sector agencies

- Teaching, training, clinical supervision for postgraduate psychology qualifications
- Active participation in quality and service improvement initiatives.
