With a budget of around £365m, three hospitals and 5,500 staff, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital-based services to the population of Hartlepool, Stockton on Tees and parts of East Durham and Sedgefield as well as community, therapeutic and screening to a wider population across Durham and Teesside.

Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for an Information Development Analyst to join the Information Management Team at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust.

The post holder will form part of a small team and will be required to assist with the developing and maintaining of the various data warehouse and reporting services used by Information Management and the wider organisation. 

The successful candidate will be highly numerate, have experience in the analysis and interpretation of complex data and have the ability to engage with stakeholders. 

 

Main duties of the job

  • To assist in the ongoing development of the data sets held in the Trusts Electronic Data Warehouses and other Data Management Systems.
  • To assist on the ongoing availability, quality and expansion of data sets held in the Trusts Electronic Data Warehouses and other Data Management Systems.
  • To assist in the continued development and enhancement of the Trust’s information systems.
  • To assist in the identification of any new data management requirements and contribute to the provision of technical solutions to meet these requirements, working with other members of the Information Management Team and external software suppliers where appropriate.
  • To assist in the development of more efficient technical methods of producing routine reporting, analysis and intelligence requirements within the Information Management Department.
  • To assist in the development of clinical dashboards, utilising new technologies and presentational formats to deliver information to end-users.
  • To support the Information Management function by the maintenance and ongoing support to a variety of Information tools and databases.
  • Assist the senior information developers in creating SSIS packages, SSRS reports and bespoke SQL queries as required.
  • Assist in the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL into the Trusts business intelligence platform).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

One of the key responsibilities of the Information Management Team is the provision of accurate and timely information to satisfy both internal and external reporting requirements, this includes completion of National Returns and the submission of data to SUS. 

The post holder will therefore be required to assist in the identification of any new data reporting requirements and contribute to the provision of technical solutions to meet these requirements.

Essential criteria
  • Degree/Equivalent Vocational Qualification/Significant Previous Proven Experience
  • 'O' Level/GCSE/Equivalent - English Lanaguage
  • 'O' Level/GCSE/Equivalent - Mathematics
  • Information Technology Qualifications

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience in SQL/Data Warehouse/Reporting Tools
  • Experience using and troubleshooting MS Software
  • Extensive experience of Microsoft Applications

  • Experience within the NHS
