Trosolwg o'r swydd

We are a supportive and collaborative Older People’s Community Mental Health Team,  seeking a  Specialist Applied Psychologist/Highly Specialist Applied (e.g. Clinical) Psychologist to join us. The successful applicant will lead on and deliver psychological assessments, formulations and therapies for older people, families and carers within a CMHT that covers urban and rural areas in York and North Yorkshire.

The applied psychologist role is key to the provision of high-quality care for patients, carers and families within our Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP). Applied Psychology is highly valued in the team, Care Group and  within the Trust, with good professional support .

We welcome applications from existing Band 8a or Band 7 Applied Psychologists (e.g. Clinical Psychologists) as well as newly qualified Applied Psychologists and individuals due to qualify from DClinPsy courses (or equivalent). A successful candidate taking up the post at Band 7 will be provided with clinical/professional and managerial supervision and developmental support to help them to progress to Band 8a, according to a clear set of criteria. For those not appointed as an 8a, transition  will be considered once there is a professional and managerial consensus that competencies are met. We are developing the range of psychological therapies we offer for complex emotional and relational needs,  and want to support Diploma level training in specialist therapies (CBT or CAT).
