Want to work with children and young people?

Our Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner’s (CWP’s) deliver a range of brief low intensity, evidenced based psychological therapies.

The post holder will work with children and young people (0-18years) with the principal objectives of providing assessment and intervention to children and young people who have mental health needs.

Working as a part of a multi-disciplinary team and liaising closely with other agencies you will assess, plan and implement care for children with mental health needs.

If you have excellent communication skills and are committed to providing a high quality, flexible service to children then we want to hear from you.

The post holder will be working into the Tees Getting Help team working across the Teesside area. The team is currently based at Evergreen, Acklam Road Hospital though this may change in the future.

We are keen to hear from suitably qualified and experienced individuals. Applicants wishing to work part-time hours would be considered - There are two post available - Fixed term 12 months and fixed term 9 months.

Please note that CWP registration is required for this role.

The post holder will work within the CAMHS  team providing assessment and CBT based low intensity interventions to individuals and groups.
The post holder will work with young people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary, and should be committed to equal opportunities.

Qualifications

Meini prawf hanfodol
  • Successfully completed British Psychological Society (BPS) Accredited or Higher Education England (HEE) Approved academic course of study in line with the CYP IAPT Low Intensity National Programme and will be qualified as a Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP)
  • And - Professional registration as a Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) with an appropriate regulatory body (e.g. British Psychological Society (BPS) or British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP))

Experience

  • Experience of working with children and young people with mental health problems.
  • Experience of delivering low intensity CBT and parent led CBT within children and young people’s services.

  • Worked in a service where agreed targets are in place demonstrating clinical outcomes.
  • Experience of delivering psycho-educational groups.
