With a budget of around £365m, three hospitals and 5,500 staff, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital-based services to the population of Hartlepool, Stockton on Tees and parts of East Durham and Sedgefield as well as community, therapeutic and screening to a wider population across Durham and Teesside.

An opportunity has arisen to appoint a Band 2 clerical officer within the Elective Inpatient Waiting List Booking Team.
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated person to work in this extremely busy department providing a high quality service.
The post holder will be required to provide an efficient and effective administrative and clerical support service to internal and external users, working to strict deadlines whilst producing high quality, accurate and timely outputs to assist in patient care.

Working closely with Consultants to book their theatre lists.
Liase with patients to agree dates for their procedures.
Work with all internal colleagues to manage patients pathways.
Work alongside cancer trackers to book patients around their urgency for surgery and national guidance.
Work as part of a small team, within a very busy aread

Qualifications

- Maths/English Grade 3/C or above

- NVQ level 2 or IT qualification or equivalant
Experience

- Experience of working with the general public, face to face and telephone
- Examples of working with different computer systems

- Experience of working within the health care / NHS environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology or equivalant
- Experience of working in a busy office environment and being able to multi task
Skills / Aptitudes

- Ability to pay good attention to detail, be able to check and record data, over time identify anomolies, self check completed work
- Demonstrate willingness to work as part of a team, be able to liase with different staff grades clearly and concise

- Demonstrate a good knowledge of working with computer systems, show willingness to learn and be enthusiastic
- Be proactive in contributing to service improvement
