Job Title:  Housekeeper

Agenda for Change Band: 2

Job Purpose: Maintain stock and supply levels, ensure cleanliness of equipment and keep an itinerary of all ward items. Support Patient hydration and nutrition.

Business Unit/Team: Day Case Unit, Elective Hub

Line Management Reporting Relationships: Deputy Matron

Main duties of the job

To maintain levels of stock on the ward ensuring amount is adequate for service need, reporting any deficiencies to the ward manager and supplies supervisor, Inc. oxygen bottles.

To clean ward equipment which is in storage as needed and apply green tape as per trust policy.

Charge any equipment not in use.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Restock trolleys (in bays, treatment room etc.)

Restock cupboards (dressings, CSSD etc.)

Replace any sharps bins that are at their limit.

Restock gloves, aprons, alcohol gel.

Maintain an inventory for all ward equipment and medical devices.

Support patient with hydration and nutrition

Support replacing broken equipment

Clean and prepare patient areas
