With a budget of around £365m, three hospitals and 5,500 staff, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital-based services to the population of Hartlepool, Stockton on Tees and parts of East Durham and Sedgefield as well as community, therapeutic and screening to a wider population across Durham and Teesside.

Job overview

The Trust Doctor post will be responsible for the day to day management of elective  and trauma.  This includes patients on the Paediatric wards and in ED.  They will be responsible to supervise the CT/F2 doctors and will be expected to attend the orthopaedic clinics, specialist clinics, theatre and ward rounds.  

 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide trauma on call cover with the on call team for orthopaedics at North Tees.  The elective work is carried out on both the North Tees site and the  Hartlepool site.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The candidate will work with the Consultants in the areas of trauma, lower limb, upper limb, hand and wrist surgery.  They will work within a team based on call system covering  trauma theatre and trauma clinics.  They will work alongside Core Trainees and Foundation Year 2 doctors with ample opportunity for exposure to elective and trauma workload.  Teaching opportunities are also available to the successful candidate.
