Legacy Midwife Mentor

NHS AfC: Band 6

We are on a continuous journey of improvement and transformation , however our main priority is, and always will be, providing safe and high quality care to our patients every day; the kind of care we would want for ourselves and our loved ones. If you share our passion then apply for this opportunity and help us make our patients’ experience the best it can possibly be.

With a budget of around £365m, three hospitals and 5,500 staff, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital-based services to the population of Hartlepool, Stockton on Tees and parts of East Durham and Sedgefield as well as community, therapeutic and screening to a wider population across Durham and Teesside.

Trosolwg o'r swydd

The Legacy Midwife Mentor role is an experienced midwife in the late stages of their career. They will primarily be helping newly qualified midwives and internationally educated midwives by imparting their knowledge, skills and experience through coaching and supporting them in the early stages of their career. They will also support their band 6 colleagues to build on and develop knowledge particularly on rotation to new areas.

They will need to demonstrate empathy and patience, be passionate about the profession and be able to provide pastoral support to others.  We can all reflect on the importance of mentors and role models in our own careers, and this is an opportunity to have that kind of influence on the incoming generation as they set out on a career in health and care.
