Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit  two dedicated, enthusiastic and innovative individuals to join our team and work within the NHS York and Selby Talking Therapies Service.  The service is an integrated Step 2, Step 3 and counselling service covering York, Selby, Pocklington, Easingwold and Tadcaster geographical areas. We also have a dedicated Employment Advisory Team to support service users whilst within treatment.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will provide High Intensity interventions whilst undertaking the PG Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy delivered by Sheffield University which commences in October 2024. This training post will equip you to provide a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) service to clients with a range of common mental health problems in primary care, for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective.

We are keen to appoint people who are committed to a career within NHS York and Selby Talking Therapies.  On successful completion of the course you will be expected to work towards accreditation with the BABCP.

Upon successful completion of the course you will progress to being promoted to a qualified High Intensity Therapist position on a permanent contract.

The successful candidates will need to be flexible, well organised, evidence reliability and demonstrate the ability to cope with a demanding job. The post holder will be enthusiastic, hard working and able to meet specified targets in order to deliver a high quality service to the local population.

Working for our organisation

NHS York and Selby Talking Therapies offer a hybrid working model with a mix of homeworking and working from different venues across the York and Selby locality.

You will also be expected to be flexible and provide out of hours clinics and travel to different locations as required by service need.

The successful candidates will need to be available to travel to Sheffield University for the teaching days and commit to the year long duration of the training course.

IMPORTANT:

You will need to be in a position to commence training from October 2024.
