Job overview
Intermediate Care Ward Matron/Lead AHP
· Senior clinical and operational leadership of the Intermediate Care Wards and associated services, including our ward volunteer programme, as part of the CHIC Division leadership team
· Clinical leadership and management of the intermediate care wards and MDT model of care for our low acuity patients
This is a cross site/community post therefore the ability to travel between the sites is essential
Main duties of the job
The Matron/Lead AHP (Band 8a) will work collaboratively within the Senior Divisional/Nursing/Therapy teams to ensure that National, Regional and Trust strategies are developed and implemented at a local level.
The Matron/lead AHP will promote the vision and values of East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, leading by example and ensuring that they demonstrate those values in their leadership behaviours and how we support our teams and deliver our services.
The Matron/Lead AHP will have established leadership skills that motivate, empower and inspire others to promote evidence-based quality service for patients. They will lead a successful and motivated team within the clinical unit and contribute to recruitment initiatives advising on workforce planning and supporting the development of new ways of working. The Matron/Lead AHP will be an expert Practitioner who is easily identifiable, visible and accessible to staff, patients and relatives. Participation in the Senior Manager on call rota.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse and hold active registration with NMC or Registered AHP and hold active registration with HCPC
- Masters level qualification relevant to role
- Post Graduate qualification relevant to role to demonstrate expert clinical and leadership skills
- Evidence of mandatory and statutory essential training skills, for example, Basic Life Support, manual handling, infection control, fire etc
- Senior Leadership qualification
Desirable criteria
- Mentoring or coaching qualification
- Project management and Quality improvement qualification
- Restorative supervision/Professional Nurse Advocate qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Proven experience working in a senior leadership position.
- Demonstrate experience of Quality/Service improvement Project Management Operational leadership People Management Innovative and inspiring leadership and clinical practice

- Demonstrates evidence of national or regional networking
Skills
Essential criteria
- Leadership and operational management skills that demonstrate the ability to manage self and lead others

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
