Calling all Band 6 Dietitians!
1.0 wte Band 6 rotational dietitian.
We have an exciting opportunity for a band 6 dietitian to enhance their skills in our rotational program.
As part of our Band 6 rotational program, you will have the opportunity to gain fantastic experience in all aspects of dietetics including nutrition support and complex enteral feeding.
Rotations include: acute medicine at RSCH and PRH, major trauma, neuro, stroke, and renal. It is possible the rotations may expand further in the future.
You will work very closely with the senior dietitians who will support your training and development. We hold regular clinical update sessions, that would count towards your CPD. This post offers you fantastic experience & support from the team across many complex dietetic specialities.
We are passionate about training student dietitians, research and audit and have a robust development programme for you.
Informal visits or discussions about the role are very welcome.
Main duties of the job
You will provide specialist advice, education and support to patients, carers and other health professionals and will play a key role in the nutritional management of these patients.
You’ll need to have excellent communication and leadership skills, a flexible approach and the ability to manage your own time and workload and that of other members of staff within a supportive team. Experience of nutritional support and evidence of a varied clinical experience is desirable.
In addition you will actively be involved in the trust’s clinical governance programme and quality framework agenda by taking lead responsibility for ensuring continuing professional development, audit and research activities within this specialist area.
You will also be involved in supporting junior dietitians and students.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Bachelor of science (Honors degree) Nutrition and Dietetics, Diploma in Nutrition and dietetics, or post graduate Diploma
Desirable criteria
- Post registration training in cognitive behavioural therapy.
- Student clinical facilitator training course
- British Dietetic Association: Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Group (PENG) course
- RELEVANT POST GRAD COURSES
Registration
Essential criteria
- State registration with the Health profession Council
Desirable criteria
- Member of the BDA
Clinical
Essential criteria
- good range of clinical dietetic experience
Desirable criteria
- NHS or similar acute experience in gastro/renal/critical care/trauma
