Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Junior sister/Charge Nurse to become an integral part of a team who are developing the service to deliver outstanding care and treatment to people with gastroenterological conditions who are acutely unwell at The Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton. 

As part of the development of Level 9a East we are looking for a skilled, dynamic Junior Sister/ Charge Nurse who will provide excellent care to our patients, strong leadership and work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team.

We welcome applications from those who currently hold a UK NMC registration. If you currently hold an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship we are not currently direct hiring Internationally Qualified Nurses.

Main duties of the job

Level 9A East is a 35 bedded Gastroenterology unit which specialises in the care and treatment of patients with gastroenterological conditions, these including; Alcoholic and non-alcoholic liver disease, peptic ulcer disease, irritable bowel disease, gastrointestinal bleeds and Acute on chronic pancreatitis. The successful candidate will work closely with the MDT, including; Doctors, Dieticians, Pharmacist, physio/OT, specialist nurses etc.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, flexible, energetic Sister/ Charge Nurse with a ‘can do’ approach with high expectations for delivering and organizing, safe, high quality person centred care and assist the Manager in delivering the trust Vision for gastroenterology. You will have a proactive and positive approach with excellent clinical and inter- personal skills to work with our fantastic multidisciplinary team.
