Job overview
BCSP Administrators will have collective oversight of the administrative service, ensuring a qualitative and responsive service is maintained to support the effectiveness of the BCSP. A key aspect is supervising and supporting more junior admin colleagues in with their role remit. The main remit of this role is to liaise with the Hub, patients, various MDT, across the cancer network, and related PCT teams. Close working with Consultants and Senior Nurses is a major part of this role.
Main duties of the job
1. In conjunction with the National Team, maintain the BCSP national database.
2. Ensure smooth referral pathways are adhered to for patients referred to local Trusts.
3. Supervision of more junior colleagues
4. Represent the BCSP at meetings as appropriate.
Comms
1. Act as first point of contact with Regional Hub with the recording of results and arrangement of nurse-led clinic appointments.
2. Maintain regular communication with Primary Care with regards to patient activity.
Service Development
1. Participate in the development of new systems to meet changing information requirements
Administrative
- Accountable for providing an administrative service to the BCSP team to support the effective delivery of the Programme.
- Arrange colonoscopy appointments at the identified screening centres. This would involve accessing various IT systems and liaising with local trust service managers to agree local schedules etc
- Maintain the BCSP surveillance waiting lists and local database.
- Support the BCSP Manager in the development of performance reporting to the National Screening Programme, strategic groups and the wider health community.
- Assist the BCSP Manager in the development of robust information systems that will support the current and future needs of the Programme.
- Ensure adequate supplies of stationery, consumables and office equipment as appropriate.
- Carry out other duties as appropriate to the post.

Essential/Desirable
Essential criteria
- More than 2 years NHS Administration experience
- GCSE or equivalent Education
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of Bowel Screening
- Experience in Cancer Screening

Applicant requirements
