At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.

In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.

As the Apprenticeships and Widening Participation Administrator you have an important role ensuring requests for apprenticeship development are processed efficiently.  You will also support the upskilling through functional skills  for new and existing employees enabling them the opportunity to be developed through apprenticeship programmes.  In addition, the promotion of apprenticeships Trust Wide, acting as an ambassador for apprenticeships internally and externally, supporting careers events raising the profile of  NHS Careers and ESHT as an employer. 

To undertake administration duties at a  high level in support of the Apprenticeships and Widening Participation Agenda in line with Trust and National Policies, contributing towards the delivering the Trust's  Education and Workforce Strategies.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work with the team to provide excellent administration support dealing with apprenticeships and widening participation development applications and customer enquiries.  They will input and maintain accurate data using Excel spreadsheets, providing high quality data/reports from internal and external systems.  Develop a network of internal key contacts to promote and support apprenticeships, and develop effective and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders: training providers, schools, colleges and Higher Education providers to increase the uptake of apprenticeships and efficient use of the apprenticeship Levy.

It is essential to be able to manage and prioritise a varied workload to meet deadlines ensuring attention to detail in all aspects of the role, dealing with customer enquiries appropriately resolving within the limits of the role,  demonstrating good interpersonal skills.  The role also involves marketing and promoting apprenticeship opportunities and successes.

There is an expectation to undertake the Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship within six months of commencing in post if not attained.  This includes Functional skills to support future development GCSE Grade C/4 or Level 2 functional skills.  To also provide regular feedback to the line manager on the progress and areas of concern in relation to key duties and responsibilities including apprenticeship coursework if applicable.
