Our centre for trauma services and obstetrics is at Conquest Hospital, while our centre for urology and stroke services is at Eastbourne DGH. At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.
In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.
Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and professional individual to join the Transformation Programme Team at Sussex Pathology Network.
The Sussex Pathology Network is one of 27 pathology networks across England. It is a collaborative network of three local trusts across seven sites:
- East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (ESHT): Eastbourne and Hastings
- Queen Victoria NHS Foundation Trust (QVH): East Grinstead
- University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (UHSx): Brighton, Haywards Heath, Worthing, and Chichester
The overarching aim of the Sussex Pathology Network (SPN) is to deliver the NHS England vision of a consolidated and collaborative pathology network which is achievable in an acceptable timeframe, improves resilience and quality across the network, delivers sustainable savings and is sufficiently flexible to adapt to the changing clinical and technological environment.
We are seeking someone who can demonstrate excellent project management skills and the ability to turn their work into excellent written and verbal outputs. They would be working with people at all levels and in a wide range of services and locations - so need the ability to communicate effectively and with confidence as well as demonstrate Trust values.
Main duties of the job
This role is to project manage the implementation an enterprise solution of Ordercomms across Sussex. Ordercomms is used by clinicians in a range of care settings to request Pathology and Radiology diagnostics, and also to receive the results.
The post holder will manage the delivery of the project on behalf of all stakeholders and will report into both the Pathology and Imaging Networks
· Responsible for the development and delivery of the Sussex Enterprise Ordercomms Project implementation.
· Responsible for the planning, delivery and organisation of complex multistranded projects applying PRINCE 2 methodology to control the project
· Responsibility for compliance with the Sussex Pathology Network configuration management and governance processes
· Maintain an overview of all workstreams’ performance against plan, identifying risks, issues, dependencies and relationships between workstreams; advising on and implementing appropriate mitigating and corrective actions or adjustments to the project plan
· Hold the budget for the project, manage resources, timescales and costs and provide regular reports to the project Board including highlight and exception reports
· Maintain and regularly monitor project risk logs and develop contingency plans / recommendations for identified issues

- Educated to Degree level or equivalent.
- Track record of delivering to PRINCE 2 methodology
- PRINCE 2 Foundation Certified
- Documented CPD to Masters Degree or equivalent level

- Relevant experience working in a health or local government setting; good understanding of NHS decision making procedures.
- Understanding of challenges around the national and local drivers for change.
- Experience of successfully implementing change in a complex multi organisational environment with a wide range of stakeholders and professional groups.
- Delivering complex projects with Board level engagement
- Management and delivery of reports at Board level including financial analysis
- Communicating complex information to audiences who have no knowledge of the area
