In the summer of 2020, the Trust launched its ambitious ‘Building for our Future’ (BFF) programme. This once in a lifetime programme aims to redevelop and expand our hospitals at Eastbourne, Hastings and Bexhill, transforming the environment in which we provide care for generations to come.

Our centre for trauma services and obstetrics is at Conquest Hospital, while our centre for urology and stroke services is at Eastbourne DGH. At Bexhill Hospital we offer a range of outpatient, day surgery, rehabilitation and intermediate care services. At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.
In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.
Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified Clinical Support Workersto work in the community. The post holder will support the District Nurse in delivering an efficient and high quality nursing service using evidence based practice to a wide range of patients within the locality.
We are looking to recruit Clinical Support Workers to work in the Eastbourne locality who have a Care Certificate (NVQ or equivalent would be an advantage), excellent team working and communication skills and the desire to share knowledge and work within an inter-professional framework.
You will be required to work flexibly which will include weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
This is a community post and therefore you must be able to travel throughout the locality, in a timely manner, carrying equipment/staff with you. You must have access to a car and hold a current driving license. You will also be expected to support students as part of their basic training and colleagues as part of their ongoing professional development.
The post holder will need to attend a period of induction and training before commencing in the role.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 or Functional skills for English/Maths
- Care Certificate
Desirable criteria
- 5 GCSE grade 4 or C and above or equivalent
- Evidence of mandatory and statutory essential training skills, for example, Basic Life Support, manual handling, infection control, fire etc
- Education and training to NVQ level 3/Work based diploma or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Relevant experience of working in Health or Social Care Environment delivering personal care
Desirable criteria
- Relevant experience working in the NHS
Skills/Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Ability to work under instruction from a Registered Professional without direct supervision and support
- Digital Skills, use of systems and ability to use physiological recording equipment and record findings
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of development of knowledge and skills relevant to role
- Training and competence in clinical tasks relevant to role ie. Cannulation, wound care, ECG
