Our centre for trauma services and obstetrics is at Conquest Hospital, while our centre for urology and stroke services is at Eastbourne DGH. At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.
In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.
Job overview
We are looking for a Specialist Podiatry Lead to work in our At Risk pathway to work alongside our foot protection team and At Risk Lead, concentrating on aligning those patients without Diabetes but have a foot wound to have similar care pathways to patients with Diabetes , reducing admissions and health inequalities.
This is an exciting opportunity that will support the both the professional development of the Foot protection Team and develop the pathways required in line with National guidance across the Community Health and Integrated Care division at ESHT.
The role will focus on the clinical, education and service development for the wider Podiatry workforce and to raise the profile of Podiatry across the trust. It will offer an excellent opportunity to develop the service further across the four pillars of practice.
The post requires the successful candidate to have a minimum of 4 years post registration experience working within community and hospital settings in the specialism of diabetes/ highly complex woundcare/ high risk foot.
The successful applicant will also be a car driver/ owner as this post will be cross county.
Main duties of the job
§ To include highly complex wound care assessment and podiatry assessment in lower limb and foot disorders
§ Experience of acute and chronic highly complex wound care management
§ Experience in patient assessment and formulating and delivering treatment plans to high risk patients
§ Experience of multi-disciplinary and interagency working

- Podiatrist registered with the Health Professions Council
- Local anaesthetic certificate
- Evidence of postgraduate Development around education and practice
- Educated to masters level or equivalent experience in practice
