Our centre for trauma services and obstetrics is at Conquest Hospital, while our centre for urology and stroke services is at Eastbourne DGH. At Bexhill Hospital we offer a range of outpatient, day surgery, rehabilitation and intermediate care services. At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.

In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.

 

Job overview

Are you looking for a leadership development opportunity or a new challenge? An opportunity has arisen for suitable applicants to apply for the post of Service Manager within the Diagnostics, Anaesthetics and Surgery Division.  

The Service Manager is an integral part of the overall Divisional management structure and will work closely with the General Manager to support the development of the division, including performance, management of day to day service issues, and progression with service transformation workstreams.

Main duties of the job

Provide operational support to the General Manager to include day to day operational duties as well as service transformation initiatives. 

Coordinate effectively to ensure safe and effective operational delivery of the service, delegating responsibilities as appropriate. The post holder will manage processes by using initiative in the absence of senior managers to ensure any concerns or issues are appropriately managed.

Plan and organise operational functions within the service to deliver efficient structures and processes to meet service targets, whilst demonstrating appropriate influencing skills with supporting departments to ensure the needs of the service are met, including coordination of internal and external activities and escalation as appropriate to the senior leadership team.
