Our centre for trauma services and obstetrics is at Conquest Hospital, while our centre for urology and stroke services is at Eastbourne DGH. At Bexhill Hospital we offer a range of outpatient, day surgery, rehabilitation and intermediate care services. At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.
In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.
Job overview

We are looking for a Governance Lead to join the Community Health and Integrated Care Division on a fixed term contract or secondment for up to 6 months – our ambition is to deliver excellent care to our population. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in delivering outstanding clinical services, have a proven track record on delivering quality improvements in nursing and integrated teams and be passionate about working as a collaborative leader within the organisation and within the wider system.

Main duties of the job
Be responsible for leading the CHIC quality and clinical governance programme.
Have a proven track record of delivering quality improvements in nursing care
Develop relationships with key stakeholders across Sussex.
Support the implementation of the clinical governance framework.
Support the development of policies and procedures and ensure policies are embedded in practice.
Support practices with delivery of their quality action plans.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Practitioner, First Level Qualified Nurse or relevant experience.
- A minimum of four years’ experience in Risk Management with a Clinical Diploma in Risk Management or equivalent.
- Patient Safety Incident or equivalent training e.g. NHSE Level 1 and 2
- Evidence of continuing relevant professional development to masters or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- Proven experience of working in a clinical setting
- Experience with Serious Incident Framework and knowledge/understanding of PSIRF
- Previous experience of implementation of Clinical Governance processes and procedures at a senior management level
