Clinical Orderly - Cardiology - Conquest Hospital

In the summer of 2020, the Trust launched its ambitious ‘Building for our Future’ (BFF) programme. This once in a lifetime programme aims to redevelop and expand our hospitals at Eastbourne, Hastings and Bexhill, transforming the environment in which we provide care for generations to come.

At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.
In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.
Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 2, full time, Clinical Orderly to join our team in Cardiology at the Conquest Hospital.
As part of the clinical team you will help improve the standards of care and patient experience in our Cardiology Department. Your duties will include general cleaning of the patient areas, some of our Cardiology outpatient area, assisting the clinical staff with essential patient equipment cleaning and cross cover for our cardiology ward areas where necessary.
All staff within the hospital have a key role to play in infection control and prevention & you could be a part of a team that makes a vital contribution to the patient’s experience during their time in hospital.
Main duties of the job
To assist clinical staff with cleaning of equipment.
To ensure that stores are kept topped up and rotated.
To assist with serving of food at mealtimes.
To run errands to other departments ie Pharmacy and Pathology
