An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, experienced and enthusiastic  Patient Access Manager to lead our Admin and Clerical Team in the Maternity Departments across Princess Royal Hospital & Royal Sussex County sites. 

This Access manager post requires significant experience handling complex data alongside operational staff management. The post requires management and improvement of Maternity pathways, ensuring the admin team support clear communication between referrers and the Maternity teams. 

You will be required to be proactive, problem solve and take initiative to support efficient Maternity services.Effective communication skills are essential alongside the ability to manipulate complex data. 

You will need to be a flexible team player, able to re prioritise yours and your team’s workload at short notice to support services facing constantly changing priorities. 

The core hours are 08:00 - 16:00, 08:30 - 16:30, or 09:00 - 17:00 Monday - Friday.

This role will provide Leadership to the administration teams providing Maternity bookings across two Acute Hospital sites as part of University Hospitals Sussex.

You will provide management support to the service, working in collaboration with Clinical and Operational management teams.

You will be responsible for utilisation of resources within the Maternity Department, ensuring all appointments are booked appropriately in accordance with Trust and NHS policy. You will ensure all staff are supported to provide the best service to our pregnant people within the available resources. 

You will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication and teamworking skills, and proactively engage with various members of staff, both within Maternity and across the wider Trust.

You will be expected to manipulate complex data and continuous review of waiting lists.

Role will be based at Princess Royal Hospital and Royal Sussex County with cross site travel required between the two base sites. 

Be accountable for the delivery of high quality, effective and flexible patient access, clerical and administrative services for the Maternity Department.

Be responsible for the line management of the Booking and Reception teams. This will include the allocation of work, training and development, staff appraisal and recruitment & selection.

Be responsible for supporting the development and monitoring of the systems for collection, recording and use of patient demographics for use by University Hospitals Sussex staff for the monitoring of activity against contracted/commissioned work, to apply this information to waiting list management for the Department.

Work in collaboration with the Operational Manager and Clinical Leads in the access to Maternity services.
