Lewes UTC provides care to people with urgent, not life threatening, minor illness and minor injuries. Your role would be pivotal to the multidisciplinary team by greeting and assisting patients, ensuring a warm and efficient reception area. You would manage patient registrations and answer phone calls and respond to enquiries with professionalism.

Main duties of the job
- Receives Patients and visitors to the service. Responds to queries and requests for information as directed by office procedures, guidelines and protocols. Refers complex or unusual requests to the Team Administrator or a member of the clinical team.
- Regularly checks on the tidiness and cleanliness of the office environment and takes action to ensure any problems are resolved.
- Undertakes admin tasks that are assigned.
- Attends team meetings within the service
- Formats letters, reports where necessary
- Carries out photocopying.
- Ensures incoming or outgoing post is processed promptly

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To welcome all patients and those accompanying them to the unit in a professional manner, recording all necessary information fully and accurately, and to carry out clerical duties necessary for the operation of the unit.
To assist the staff of the units in data collections and gathering reports for analysis and auditing purposes.

Essential criteria
- Maths and English GCSE or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience of activities that involve receiving queries from others providing information, directions or taking and passing on messages
- Excellent telephone and communication skills
Desirable criteria
- Working as part of a team – making a contribution and helping others.
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Able to remain calm and polite when it is busy or if dealing with someone who is upset or worried about their health.
- Good written and spoken English

- Excellent organisational skills

- Ability to work variable hours between 8am-8pm Monday - Sunday
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
