Job overview

We are looking for an experienced band 5 Practitioner for scrub, anaesthetics or recovery, or a mixture of all 3.

This is a busy, vibrant department, with experienced practitioners in theatre, ward and pre operative assessment.

Specialties include OMFS, Ophthalmology, Digestive Diseases, Gynaecology and Vascular.

Can you multi task, do you have a sense of humour and ability to work in a continuously changing department? If so, you are who we are looking for. 

We operate Monday - Friday, no weekends or night duties.

 

Main duties of the job

  • Lead in anaesthetics and/or scrub on potentially a daily basis in absence of band 6 practitioner
  • To provide clinical support & teaching to all relevant personnel within the specialist area.
  • To provide technical & clinical advise to relevant colleagues in the Day Surgery Unit and Pre-Operative Assessment.
  • To provide information & support to patients before, during and after surgery.
  • Willing to undertake training within the Perioperative setting either  anaesthetics, scrub or recovery.
  • To provide & assist with the development of safe & high quality specialist patient care & to work within the guidelines of the Trust Nursing & Midwifery Strategy.
