In 2020 the Care Quality Commission (CQC) rated us as ‘Good’ overall, and ‘Outstanding’ for being Caring and Effective. The Conquest Hospital in Hastings and our Community Services were rated ‘Outstanding’ and Eastbourne DGH was rated ‘Good’ Our two acute hospitals have Emergency Departments and provide 24 hour a day care, offering a comprehensive range of surgical, medical, outpatient and maternity services, supported by a full range of diagnostic and therapy services. 


In the summer of 2020, the Trust launched its ambitious ‘Building for our Future’ (BFF) programme. This once in a lifetime programme aims to redevelop and expand our hospitals at Eastbourne, Hastings and Bexhill, transforming the environment in which we provide care for generations to come.

Our centre for trauma services and obstetrics is at Conquest Hospital, while our centre for urology and stroke services is at Eastbourne DGH. At Bexhill Hospital we offer a range of outpatient, day surgery, rehabilitation and intermediate care services. At Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital we offer outpatients, rehabilitation and intermediate services. At Uckfield Community Hospital we provide day surgery and outpatient care.

In the community, we deliver services that focus on people with long term conditions living well outside hospital, through our integrated locality teams working with district and community nursing teams. Community members of staff also provide care to patients in their homes and from a number of clinics, health centres and GP surgeries.

 

Job overview

Cardiology is fortunate in having a dedicated Cardiac Catheter Suite.We undertake a variety of procedures including angiography, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), including out of hours on call for Acute Myocardial Infarction patients, pacemakers and complex devices.

We have an exciting opportunity for Administrative Support Officers to assist our Matron with delivering administrative support to a high standard.

 

We are also promoting these roles to provide apprenticeship opportunities with development. For all applicants (working 18 hours per week or more) we can offer an apprenticeship programme to support them to undertake an NVQ in business Administration at NVQ Level 2 or Level 3. This programme will take 13 months to complete and must be commenced within 3 months of the start date for the post.

The successful applicant will be responsible for arranging meetings, taking notes, support in the use of Health-roster and the recruitment electronic system, in addition to booking mandatory training and providing full administrative service to the Matron.

Undertake a range of routine administrative and secretarial tasks to provide support to the Matron in a busy environment.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Administration NVQ2 or equivalent skills.
  • Typing / text processing/ data entry skills to RSAII or equivalent
  • Evidence of good numeracy and literacy
  • Good general education
Desirable criteria
  • GCSE level A-C including English and Maths
  • ECDL or other recognised IT qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of previous admin or secretarial experience in a busy environment.
  • Record keeping and filing systems
