Job overview

 

Maintaining cleanliness within Worthing Hospital/Southlands Hospital.

We are currently recruiting (Bank staff) to our Domestics team to provide flexible cover for annual leave and absence within the team.  Various hours from Monday-Sunday (Daytime & Twilight), as when available.

The post holder will be responsible  for  cleaning clinical wards/departments.

Main duties of the job

Work as a team member with a flexible approach within the Facilities Department. To provide a comprehensive service to the Hospital undertaking all cleaning whilst adhering to all Health and Safety, ensuring all areas of allocated cleaning are kept to a high standard, and any other duties deemed within the grading of the post.

You will be integral to maintaining the high standards of cleaning throughout the hospital wards and departments.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Communication Skills

  • Maintain the confidentiality of information about patients, staff and other health service business in accordance with Trust Policy.
  • To aid Hospital staff, visitors and patients, following Trust policies and procedures.
  • Guide and direct visitors and deal with in a helpful and friendly manner.
  • Ability to communicate sensitive information using tact and diplomacy when dealing with deceased family and friends.
  • Actively participate in any departmental Information Technology initiatives.

Analytical and Judgmental Skills

  • Communicate daily with all users regarding any variation in service that may be required.
  • To log and report any faults found within the areas of responsibility and escalate any other issues accordingly.

Planning and Organisational Skills

  • Attend daily briefing meeting with Supervision, and liaise with other Departmental Managers
