Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, self-motivated Senior CT Radiographer to work within our rapidly developing department; opportunities are currently available at the Worthing and Southlands sites
Our CT department has 2 Canon CT Scanners - an Aquilion 1 and an Aquilion Prime along with CT Expres injectors. We undertake a wide range of CT examinations including stroke, trauma, oncology, intervention, CT Colonography, and Cardiac CT
Southlands Hospital was chosen to be a Community Diagnostic Centre for the area and a brand new Radiology department opened there last year . A Canon Aquilion One Prism allows us to provide OP and GP scanning in the community.
We are looking to appoint a Senior CT Band 6 Radiographer into our team. Candidates will have specialised knowledge of Radiology within the NHS , a minimum of 2 years post graduate experience and had previous general CT experience. Ideally the successful candidates will have experience in Cardiac CT and CT Colonography, but this is not essential and training will be given on the job as required.
We are currently introducing a Radiographer led CTC service which the successful candidates will be instrumental in implementing and maintaining. Training will be provided for administration of Contrast, Buscopan and Loratadine under PGD.
You will be expected to participate in our out of hours CT on call system.
We are soon to be introducing a post mortem CT service at Worthing.
Main duties of the job
Day to do day running of our busy CT department, providing the best possible care to our patients
Undertake a wide range of CT examinations to a high standard including stroke, trauma, oncology, intervention, CT Colonography, Cardiac CT.
Supervising junior Radiographers and students
Liaising with Radiologists, service users, clerical booking teams to ensure an efficient service for our patients
Rotation to Southlands Hospital to help run the CT service at the new CDC.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To perform CT Scans in accordance with present protocols.
- To be aware of limitations of experience and seek additional advice if required
- To become and remain proficient in the use of all equipment used.
- Maintain own professional standards and registrations and maintain personal CPD to ensure professional competence.
- To observe and care for patients under investigation, liaising with clerical staff, porters, nurses, and medical staff as appropriate in the best interests of the patient and any escorts.
- To receive and document patients as appropriate to maintain full patient registration for updating the departmental record system and comply with protocols for patient record details.
- To maintain own safety and that of colleagues, patients, and visitors by adhering to departmental safety policies.

- HCPC Registration
- BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years post graduate experience
- NHS experience
Desirable criteria
- Post Graduate qualification in CT
- Experience of Cardiac CT
- Experience of CT Colonography
