Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic associate practitioner to join the paediatric dietetic team at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust based in the East Riding of Yorkshire. We are looking for someone who has experience of working within dietetics and can work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.  As a small team we are looking someone who has good communication skills, is hard working and enjoys working as part of a team.

This role will involve delivering clinics both face-to-face or via telephone or video call.  As a team we see patients with conditions such as allergy, restrictive eating, enteral tube feeding, nutrition support and children with complex health needs. You will be expected to work closely with qualified dietitians to provide assessment and review of dietetic care plans. The role will also involve the development and delivery of group sessions with dietetic supervision.  As a small team we pride ourselves in providing support and supervision to help your continuing professional development.

At times you will be asked to provide administrative cover in absence of the current administrator, but full training will be provided to support this.

Main duties of the job

  • To support the Dietitian in delivery of high level, quality care and evidence based interventions in line with local and national guidance.
  • To plan, provide and evaluate nutritional interventions within a framework laid down by the Dietitian, in group and individual settings.
  • To supervise/support identified assistant practitioners and students.
