Clinical Lead Respiratory Physiotherapist - Home ventilation and bronchiectasis
Hull University Teaching Hospitals are seeking a Band 7 Clinical Lead Physiotherapist to join our diverse team of allied health professionals.
The post holder will work within the home ventilation and bronchiectasis community service, with the potential scope to support in-patient services.
The post holder will work alongside clinical nurse specialists and the MDT to plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate the therapy service provided to patients referred to the bronchiectasis and home ventilation therapy service. As a Clinical Lead Physiotherapist , you will have advanced levels of clinical expertise in the assessment and treatment of respiratory conditions.
You will take responsibility for the overall professional and organisational development of the therapy respiratory home ventilation/ bronchiectasis service. A high regard for clinical operations and governance, assuring high standards of patient centred care is required.
We are seeking people who can adapt to changing environments and work well in a team. You will be expected to be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team and build social networks working in partnership with other agencies to identify and address the immediate need of patients.
There is an expectation to support weekend working.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the clinical management of the therapy service, providing services to the Home Mechanical Ventilation Service and Bronchiectasis Service.
The post holder will need to undertake the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the specialty who may have complex and/or chronic presentation, and to determine clinical diagnosis and physiotherapy treatment indicated.
The post holder will be able to demonstrate specialist clinical skills, leadership and service development experience as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
Support will be provided to enhance operational management skills and the post holder will contribute to service planning, development and teaching.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree in physiotherapy or equivalent
- HCPC registration
- Full driving licence and have own or access to car
Desirable criteria
- Qualification of recognised highly specialist skills in relevant areas ( Masters of equivalent )
- Post graduate qualification / experience in leadership
- Independent and supplementary prescribing qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- NHS or UK equivalent Health Care Industry experience of 12 months or more
- Experience of audit evaluation and research
- Experience on Intensive Care and specialist respiratory wards
Desirable criteria
- Experience of long term ventilation and caring for bronchiectasis patients
- Experience delivering respiratory care training to patients/family/carers
- ARTP certificate in spirometry
Skills, knowledge and ability
Essential criteria
- Ability to manage highly complex caseload
- Ability to manage the performance of staff within the team

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
