Job overview

Hull University Teaching Hospitals (HUTH) are seeking a Band 6 Specialist Bariatric Dietitian to join our diverse team. The post holder will gain experience working in a large busy acute teaching trust.

The post holder will work alongside colleagues within gastroenterology dietetic team, and bariatrics service to support the timely delivery of nutritional interventions for those under the care of the bariatrics service, and those admitted to the gastroenterology wards.

We are seeking someone who can adapt to a changing environment and work well within a team. You will be expected to be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team and build social networks working in partnership with other agencies.

Main duties of the job

You must be a registered dietitian that has suitable previous experience working with complex patients and building links to community services.

The role will require the post holder to undertake nutritional assessment and treatment of patients who may have highly complex and/or chronic presentation and work closely with other members of the ward multidisciplinary teams (MDT). This will include attendance where required at best interest meetings, ward rounds, MDT meetings and service improvement meetings (such as clinical governance).

The dietetics department offers various development opportunities and can provide additional training.

If you are looking for a challenging yet rewarding position, we would welcome your application. We are looking for suitably qualified and motivated individuals who have the drive, ambition and positivity to make this role succeed.

Working for our organisation

The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community Partnership arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.

Made up of two Trusts - Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) - our Partnership has significant ambitions and is committed to delivering world-class hospital and community services for the 1.65 million people we serve.

Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLAG and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH.

As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas - biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.

We believe that by developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled and caring workforce, we can deliver excellent care to our patients and a great future for our employees, our Partnership and our community.
