Band 8b

Job overview

Deputy Nurse Director

The Deputy Nurse Director role is an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced and motivated nurse who wishes to provide senior leadership to the Neurosciences Care Group Nursing Teams.

The Deputy Nurse Directors are vital members of the Care Groups’ management teams, working to a Nurse Director but, also, working collaboratively with the Chief Nurse, Corporate Nursing Team, Ward Sisters/Charge Nurses, General Managers and wider Nursing/Midwifery teams in the provision of services and the advancement of nursing practice. There is a specific requirement for visible, accessible and strong clinical leadership and of being a role model.

Main duties of the job

The Deputy Nurse Director will be responsible for the line management within their allocated Care Group and for monitoring and assuring the quality of patient care (safety, effectiveness, and experience). In addition, the Deputy Nurse Director will be responsible for overseeing patient flow, working closely with the multidisciplinary teams,  a real focus on patient pathways in their areas of responsibility and corporately also. They will also play a key role in the development and delivery of the annual Nursing and Midwifery objectives and work-plan.

Applications from job seekers who require current Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. Working for our organisation

The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community Partnership arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.

Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLAG and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH.

As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas - biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.
