NHS Medical & Dental: Locum Consultant
Job overview
These posts could be tailored to suit a locum or less than full time role.

Different sub-specialty interests can be incorporated into the job plan. There are opportunities to contribute to cardiac and women’s imaging, amongst others.
Work may take place across sites, there is the opportunity for working from home 1 day per week.
Main duties of the job
These are new posts to meet the growing demand in cross-sectional reporting, particularly with the opening of the new CDCs. The appointees will add to a team of radiologists who combine general body reporting with a wide range of sub-specialty interests. The appointees will undertake a combination of acute and out-patient CT body reporting with scope for ultrasound or MRI reporting. The posts include supervision and training of the specialist registrars. There will be participation in the acute general body on call rota, currently at a frequency of 1 in 11.4, with out-sourcing overnight
The core supporting professional activities (1.5 SPA) is for revalidation purposes and the anticipated involvement in quality improvement, audit, teaching and research. Study leave and professional leave are taken over and above the SPA allocation. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will take up other teaching/administrative/managerial posts for further SPAs.
