Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly-motivated individuals to join the Administrative Team in the Department of Psychological Medicine.
The successful candidate will work at Gladstone Street on a rota system covering the core hours of 8am - 5pm, 7 days a week (including weekends and bank holidays). Currently the shifts are 8am - 4pm and 9am-5pm
Candidates must be organised and able to work to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and friendly, approachable nature are essential for this role, especially during telephone contact with patients, staff and the general public.
This is a fixed term 12 months role.
Main duties of the job
To take referrals from ED Department and Acute hospital Trust wards
To complete letters and outcome of patient assessments
To process referrals to other services
To input information on our patient electronic record - SystmOne

Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- 2 GCSEs/O levels English and Maths
- To have some knowledge of office procedures, clerical/reception work.
- literate and Numerate
- Standard keyboard skills e.g. RSA2, ECDL, OR demonstrable experience within A&C field at standard level
Desirable criteria
- NVQ2 or equivalent experiential learning
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working with the general public
- Knowledge of IT systems Including a range of MS Office applications.
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrable experience of practice and procedures relevant to the area of work
- Knowledge of Trust IT systems e.g.Lorenzo as appropriate to work area.
- Experience of working in an office environment.
Skills and Competence
Essential criteria
- Able to demonstrate inter-personal communication skills
- Able to plan and prioritise effectively and work within defined deadlines
