Job overview

A vacancy has arisen for a Domestic Assistant to join our Miranda House team within Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking for staff that are enthusiastic, motivated and have good interpersonal and communication skills to work as part of our teams. 

The post will assist in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for patients, trust staff, and visitors in line with the National Standards of Cleanliness, by delivering a full cleaning service within the centre.

Shifts will be every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 11am till 2pm, and every Thursday and Friday 9am till 2pm.

Main duties of the job

Generally, cleaners will all undertake the following cleaning tasks and duties during a domestic clean:

  • High and low-level dusting.
  • Cleaning of bedrooms and bathrooms.
  • Cleaning of offices and communal spaces.
  • Dusting and polishing of shelves, picture frames, units etc.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • 2 GCSEs/O levels English and Maths or demonstrable experience
  • Knowledge of HACCP and COSHH
  • Understanding of current Food Safety Legislation
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of health promotion through healthy eating

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous working experience with HACCP and COSHH
  • Working knowledge of keeping track of cleaning materials
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of cleaning
  • Previous experience working mental Health / Community Services or similar environment

Skills and Competencies

Essential criteria
  • Team player as well as being able to work on your own
  • Confident, adaptable, and flexible in approach to working practices
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the needs of people with mental health problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and be able to prioritise/meet deadlines.
