Job overview

An opportunity to work at a senior management level alongside the Trust’s corporate transformation teams.

Townend Court is undergoing rapid intensive transformational work. To support this process we are looking for an exceptional person to act as Service Manager for approx. 6 month. The candidate should be someone who is interested in a short-term developmental opportunity to work and lead a multidisciplinary team and rapidly transform inpatient care.

They will be given full support, supervision and coaching and have a great opportunity to work directly with the General Manager and Clinical Lead to implement pathways and processes and to upskill and grow a confident workforce team.  

This opportunity would suit someone who is looking for experience at 8a level or someone with 8a experience who is interested in having a defined project to implement and evaluation progress. It is also an opportunity to gain valuable skills in learning disability services at a senior level.  The role is available for part time 3 days or up to full time hours. 

Main duties of the job

·       To successfully lead the service areas, ensuring it meets commissioner expectations and delivers highest standards of practice for our service users

·       To demonstrate leadership and management to staff, managers and other agencies to create a highly supportive and engaged work environment for all staff.

·       To work in partnership with Modern Matrons, Clinical Leads and senior nurses supporting clinical practice and infection control agendas.

·       To deputise for the Divisional General Manager as appropriate.

·       To work in partnership with local and regional agencies/partners to deliver the continuous improvement of Forensic services.

·       To provide expert guidance relating to the provision of Forensic services, including ensuring effective governance within area of responsibility.

·       To establish and maintain a range of service policies and procedures that underpins the delivery of a safe and effective service.

·       Accountable for the financial resources within the service budget.

Essential criteria
  • Be a member of a recognised professional body and hold a current professional registration or have equivalent experience of NHS leadership.
  • Educated to Masters Level or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge or experiential learning/experience
  • Evidence of management, leadership and organisational development issues that have had a positive impact on service delivery.
