An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 5 Registered Nurse to join an enthusiastic, forward thinking, multi-disciplinary team, within the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
PICU is a 10 bedded mixed unit where all patients are detained under The Mental Health Act. Patients within the PICU are experiencing an acute episode of mental ill health and require a range of specialist interventions.

As a valued staff member you can expect to receive a comprehensive induction into the Trust and to the team, a structured 6 month Preceptorship programme will be provided if required and a bespoke training passport has been developed for all PICU staff.
Staff wellbeing and support is very important to us and we have various embedded systems in place to promote this, including regular Clinical and Managerial supervision, weekly reflective practice, team discussions after all shifts and 6 monthly Team away days.
As a Registered Nurse on PICU and as part of the MDT you will provide a high level of specialist care utilising formal assessments, diversional activity's and medication management. Working towards trauma informed care you will receive training in psychological interventions.

- Appropriate Knowledge and experience of working in a Mental health setting

Qualifications & Knowledge

- Part III or 13 of NMC live register
- A broad understanding of relevant Policy, legislation and their application to clinical and service area
- Standard IT skills
