An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated person to the role of department Housekeeper within the Therapy Outpatient Service .
You will work alongside the clinical and admin team and fellow house keeper to ensure that high standards are maintained to deliver a quality service.
Main duties of the job
A significant aspect of the role is effective stock ordering and rotation. Ensuring that equipment and facilities are maintained as well as managing an effective cleaning and maintenance regime for the medical devices used within the department. Knowledge of working in a care environment would be an advantage but not essential.
Academic qualifications are not essential but you will be expected to complete the National Care Certificate . You should possess excellent team working and communication qualities (both written and verbal), IT skills would also be an advantage as most stock ordering is done electronically.
Full training and support will be provided.

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential criteria
- Good standard of secondary education to GCSE level or equivalent.
Desirable criteria
- NVQ 2 or BTEC in health and social care
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
- Previous experience in the healthcare setting
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience as a housekeeper or similar role within a ward/clinic setting in a hospital
Skills and knowledge
Essential criteria
- • Ability to deal with any potentially difficult or sensitive issues.
- • Understanding of confidentiality in the work place.
- • Awareness of safety and quality issues within the ward environment.
Applicant requirements
