The role of the Rapid Diagnostic Centre Administrator is to provide specialist knowledge for the pathway of cancer patients across Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.
The role will facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey by ensuring that the pathway is co-ordinated, streamlined and all processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.
Main duties of the job
This is an opportunity to support the Cancer Tumour Site Teams to facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey, by ensuring that the cancer pathways revolve around the patient and their individual needs.
The role will have a primary base at one of the three hospitals and will provide cross-cover within the tumour site teams to ensure a consistent and effective support for all cancer sub specialities is maintained at all times.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 4 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Management Certificate or equivalent experience
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of specialist functional/medical/legal terms
- Significant previous administrative experience within a healthcare setting
- Experience of applying hospital administration systems.
- Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of key access targets i.e. 14 day, 31 day and 62 day cancer
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of key challenges facing the health economy
- Understanding of key challenges facing the Trust
Communication Skills
Essential criteria
- Good track record of IT skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
