Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is now one of the largest trusts in the country, serving a population of 1.2 million people comprising acute hospital sites at Broomfield in Chelmsford, Basildon and Southend.

We are a well-led, high-performing and innovative organisation determined to provide the best health care services for our local population and working in the best interests of the people we serve.

Job overview

Are you looking to work in a fast-paced, acute hospital environment?

In a department where flexible working is supported?

With colleagues who are forward thinking and innovative?

Where you will be valued and encouraged to develop and succeed?

Then we would love to invite you to apply for this position!

Due to internal promotion, an opportunity has arisen to join our friendly, enthusiastic and motivated team of dietitians and three dietetic assistants who together cover all clinical areas of the hospital.

Our team have a strong ethos of support and working together. We have recently experienced a lot of internal promotions and have welcomed back old staff members that missed working with such a fantastic group of people. We have regular social events including shared lunches, summer picnics, baking competitions and holiday quizzes.

We are committed to supporting the ongoing personal and professional development of our staff and you would be provided with regular CPD opportunities. The department is dedicated to student training and you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in facilitating student learning. From the day you arrive, we are committed to your continued success.

Main duties of the job

Some of your duties will include:

1. To work as an autonomous Dietitian providing assessment, management and education
for patients requiring dietetic and nutrition intervention.
2. To work closely with the dietetic and multi-disciplinary team.
3. To assist and participate in training students and health care professionals on nutrition
and dietetics.
4. To participate in audit and service improvement projects.

Working for our organisation

We work together, and in conjunction with MSE Health and Care Partnership, to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients in a compassionate way, and provide a respectful, but vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.

From facilities through to consultant specialists we want to be the best, to achieve this we need to recruit not just those who are the finest in their field but also those who have the potential to be. Yes, experience is important but so is outlook – if you are dynamic, forward-thinking and enthusiastic we want you to join us.

We not only offer you a good working environment with flexible working opportunities, but also the opportunity to develop your career with access to appropriate training for your job and the support to succeed and progress.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian with HCPC registration who has good communication skills and can demonstrate our values of excellence, compassion, and respect.

Please refer to the job description and personal specification attached.

You will be based at Basildon Hospital which entitles you to an additional 5% HCA fringe to your salary.
