Job overview

Our Endoscopy Department is looking for a hard working enthusiastic and organised full time Team Leader to work as part of the Administration Team.

Your role will involve monitoring performance to ensure endoscopy capacity is maximised to ensure all services within the Trust are meeting KPI's and involve staff management across the Site where appropriate.

You should identify shortfalls in the service such as recruitment and closely manage performance across the services, working with the operational team to deliver the service reviewing demand and capacity to support the strategic direction on going. 

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the day to day management of the Administration Teams and  reception staff across the Basildon Site ensuring that the department provides an efficient and professional service to the Trust, Health Community and external users.

You will also ensure the effective management of  waiting times, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and effectively, meeting the national waiting time targets including Cancer, DMO1 and Surveillance targets and that staff provide high quality customer service to all our patients and visitors.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of patient priorities and performance targets
  • Thorough knowledge of healthcare administrative systems and processes
  • Previous administration and people management experience
  • Experience of and skills in using a full range of IT/Patient data systems including: Microsoft Office; Outlook; Word; Excel, EPR/EMR
  • Up to date knowledge and understanding of key access targets e.g. DMO1, 2ww Cancer Target and 18 weeks Referral To Treatment.
  • Ability and evidence to manage difficult people and situations

Communication Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage own workload and conflicting priorities

Personal and People Developmen

Essential criteria
  • Ability to mentor, coach and support direct reporting staff
  • Ability to interact with many different levels of staff i.e consultants, doctors, admin staff
  • Evidence excellent interpersonal skills
