Registered Nurse- Stroke Rehab (Brentwood)

We are looking for compassionate and enthusiastic qualified nurses to join our stroke rehab unit which committed to delivering on the national stroke guidelines. We have experienced clinical experts in stroke rehab. Our successful nurse led ward seeks to provide development opportunities for motivated individuals.

With recent focus on developing clinical skills on the ward, this is an exciting time for this nurse led ward to embrace a commitment to learning and development seeking innovative ways to deliver high quality care to patients with increasingly complex needs.

You will support the Ward Manager by contributing to the provision, management and co-ordination of services on the ward to ensure that effective, sympathetic and individualised 24-hour patient care is maintained.  You will participate in the development of nursing care.

Main duties of the job

  • Assess, plan, provide, document & evaluate individualised, high quality care.
  • Maintain & develop knowledge, skills & competence in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, PREP and Trust Policies & Procedures.
  • Participate in the development of quality initiatives.
  • Maintain & provide accurate records, reports and information ensuring that confidentiality is maintained.
  • Contribute to a learning environment.
  • Act as a mentor to students and newly qualified staff.
  • Maintain & promote a safe working environment , with particular reference to infection control and health & safety.
  • Maintain & promote effective communication both within the MDT and with other colleagues, patients, relatives & visitors.
  • Assist in the management of the ward budget & ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained.
  • Ensure that repairs & replacements are ordered by appropriate reporting.
