Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic and flexible individual to join our neurology team as a Parkinson’s Specialist Practitioner / Nurse. 

Your role will be to provide a specialist nursing/AHP service to adults with Parkinson’s providing expert advice, education and support to the patient with Parkinson’s and their families/carers from the time of diagnosis and throughout the course of their condition.

There is an opportunity for this post to be a development one, from Band 6 to Band 7, depending on experience. 

Main duties of the job

You will liaise with all members of the Multi-disciplinary Team to provide an effective and timely service to Parkinson’s patients, inform & support Parkinson’s patients and their families, providing counselling, information, education and a formal management plan and provide advice, education and support to patients or family members contacting the department with queries, concerns or problems.

You will work with fellow Parkinson’s Practitioners / Consultant Neurologist and other clinical colleagues to develop and introduce systems to enhance the responsiveness of dealing with patients concerns, monitoring any trends, and developing appropriate actions

  • Significant post-registration experience
