Main duties of the job
You will assist in the provision of Pharmacy Services to all wards and departments within the Trust, and any external Trusts where appropriate. They will be working as part of the Dispensary team to provide an effective Pharmacy service in both the in-patient dispensary and out-patient dispensary.
Pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
For full details about this varied and rewarding role, please see attached job description, but some of the responsibilities include;
To accurately dispense medicines for in-patients, either at ward level or in the dispensary.
Working in the outpatient dispensary to undertake the dispensing of medicines and sell over the counter medicines upon training.
To undertake the collection of prescription charges and the provision of advice on medicines usage to patients and carers, where appropriate.
To contribute to efficient computer stock control and ordering in all areas and to ensure that stock rotation procedures are followed, expired medicines are identified and pharmaceutical items returned to the department are dealt with according to procedures at all times.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
