Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a band 6 nurse to join the breast reconsrtuction team  within the St Andrew's Centre for Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. The department is the hub for the plastic surgery services across the region.

An interest in wound care is essential and candidates must have excellent organisational and communication skills and as an essential requirement of this post you must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle.

The ideal candidate should be a motivated team focused nurse who is able to deliver safe, effective patient-centred care and has an enthuiastic approach to learning new skills.

Main duties of the job

As an ideal candidate you should be a team focused nurse who enjoys providing excellent nursing care and who has a passionate approach to their work.  As a Band 6 you will be required to work unsupported and take charge in the absence of senior colleagues.  Previous experience of Plastic Surgery Nursing  and a desire to  develop the management skills required to fully maximise the potential of this service are essential requirements for this post.  You will be expected to show leadership qualities in line with the Trusts core values and support the learning of Students and junior colleagues.
