An exciting opportunity to join an experienced and enthusiastic ultrasound team has arisen at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. You will be based at Broomfield Hospital which is a busy District General Hospital, with rotation to two local Community Hospitals.
We can offer you a busy, challenging and varied workload, including antenatal ultrasound services, general, small parts, paediatric, DVT and MSK scanning. We provide support to the Early Pregnancy Unit, Urology and Gynae clinics, and you will have the opportunity to work alongside the consultant radiologists on the Emergency Floor, scanning emergency and urgent inpatient cases.

Main duties of the job
You should be committed to providing a patient focussed high quality service, with an interest in clinical teaching, continual professional development, participation in audit and enjoy multi- disciplinary team working within a supportive environment.
To work at an advanced level of practice providing a high quality ultrasound service with comprehensive independently written reports
Communicate highly complex information regarding diagnosis/treatment directly with Clinicians and patients
To independently prioritise patients and organise workload from a variety of referral pathways to meet the needs of the service

Chelmsford is an increasingly cosmopolitan city, with a lively town centre and an expanding university which has academic links with the Hospital. London and Stansted airport are less than an hour away, as are the East Coast and East Anglian countryside.

- To ensure the highest professional occupational standards are maintained at all times using a high level of specialist knowledge in line with local, regional and national guidelines where appropriate.
- To work autonomously performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetrics and gynaecology.
- To provide accurate dating based on fetal ultrasound measurements in the pregnant woman - crucial to the calculation and confirmation of the expected date of delivery, and for the planning of antenatal care and tests.
- Participate in the provision of a screening service to detect fetal abnormalities, monitor growth in the “at risk” fetus and management of the multiple pregnancy

Education & Qualification
Essential criteria
- HCPC or NMC Registration
- Higher qualification in US practice (Masters / PGC)
- Additional specialist courses
Desirable criteria
- Experience in small parts / DVT/ MSK scanning
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Ability to communicate well at all levels
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrable year clinical experience

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
