We are recruiting an enthusiastic, forward thinking team player to join our dynamic Integrated Urgent Crisis Response service (IUCRS). IUCRS are a multi-disciplinary admission avoidance service.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who is motivated to achieve their full potential.  Clear clinical reasoning and good assessment skills are essential. It is preferable that you have experience of working in a community setting although we would welcome applicants with all levels of experience.

It is expected that you will have excellent communication skills, enjoy working with a variety of service users of different age groups & have good self-management skills. You will be encouraged and supported to develop your clinical and leadership skills and be actively involved in service development.

It is essential that you are a car driver with access to a vehicle for work as you will be expected to travel across the North East Essex area.

 

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

The key objectives for this post are to provide care and support to patients within their own home, avoiding the need for them to come into hospital for admission.

You will be responsible for managing patients with a range of conditions including neurological, orthopaedic (trauma & elective), respiratory and elderly rehabilitation.

You will be working as part of an integrated team with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurse Practitioners, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Associate Practitioners, Assistant Practitioners, Community Support Workers, Community Matrons and other specialist services.

Main Duties

  • To utilise clinical skills to assess, diagnose, treat and refer patients.
  • To recognise the need for and refer to the appropriate specialisms.
  • To exhibit excellent nonverbal and verbal communication skills when dealing with patients and carers.
  • To have the ability to make clear decisions with confidence and communicate these effectively.
  • To maintain appropriate clinical records in line with current practice guidelines
  • To be able to work flexibly over a 7-day service.

  • • Relevant post qualification training through short courses and/or further study and experience for example sensory integration working towards post graduate level of study level
  • • Evidence of on-going CPD
