Do you want to be part of one of the best performing cancer tumour sites within England? Do you want to support patients moving faster through there cancer pathway? If you are highly organised and love working within an admin environment, with an engaging clinician team as well as making a difference with direct impact to patient care, then this is the role for you.
This role will include ensuring no delays in these cancer pathways and liaising regularly with various clinical and non clinical teams. This is a really important and rewarding role to make a real difference to patient care.
Due to investment in our services this new opportunity has arisen for you to become part of our team where you will be supporting our urology cancer sites.
In this department you will be fully supported by management with regular training and development to help further career.

This post is to support Urology at Colchester Hospital and is fixed term until 31st March 2025. Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please ensure you have spoken with your manager.
Band 3 developmental posts will be considered, this will be assessed at interview.

In this post you will work collaboratively with both the Operational Team to support the Trust in achieving National Cancer Waiting Times Standards. You will be 'the key link' ensuring patients on a cancer pathway are processed in a timely and efficient manner, in line with the Best Practice Pathways and the National Cancer Waiting time targets.
You will be responsible for troubleshooting blockages in patient pathways and providing proactive information in anticipation of potential problems, actively coming up with solutions and escalating as necessary to the Manager/Clinical lead and closing the loop on next steps.
You will work unsupervised for the majority of the time but will be supported, as necessary, by Urology with regular meetings. You should have the ability to work in a team and independently.
You will be required to contact patients and/or tertiary centres directly to facilitate a prompt resolution to any pathway issues or delays. You will also be responsible for tracking patient pathways and have regular communication with clinicians.

- Ability to use and produce reports from National Cancer Registration Systems (Somerset or Infoflex)
- Experience of dealing with complex and/or sensitive information and unpredictable situations.
- Ability to analyse complex problems and to develop practical and workable solutions to address them.
- Ability to collaborate constructively with internal and external partners to create the conditions for successful partnership working.
- Good working knowledge of 18 week and cancer pathways

- Knowledge of Evolve or Big Hand admin systems
Qualifications
