Job overview
This is a great opportunity for an experienced secretary looking to move into working in the very interesting and rewarding area of Oncology. We are seeking a highly motivated, committed and experienced Medical Personal Assistant to provide high quality administrative services to clinicians in the Oncology department at ESNEFT, based at the Colchester site.
You must have relevant qualifications and experience in providing a PA service within an NHS hospital setting, ideally with a background in Oncology or Haematology experience. To be successful you will have a flexible and professional approach. The key aspect of your role involves dealing with the public and professionals and hence you must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for working independently and in a team providing a full range of secretarial and administrative support and therefore must be highly organised and show the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
Your duties will also include audio typing using the digital dictation system, monitoring of patients on an active cancer pathway, post cancer treatment, communicating with the wider clinical and administration teams, and dealing with telephone and email enquiries.
