Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and proactively driven individual to fulfil the role of Rota Coordinator within our Gynaecology department with East Suffolk and North Essex NHS foundation Trust.
You will be required to provide an excellent administrative service to the team. Acting as the first point of contact for any medical staffing enquiries within the department you will have the responsibility for the provision of a safely staffed medical team.
You should demonstrate knowledge of RTT and have excellent communication skills, with proven experience of managing a team.
This is a fast paced and busy role, you must have good prioritisation skills.
This is full time fixed term/secondment post until 31st December 2025, cross site.
Main duties of the job
· To be responsible for the co-ordination of all medical rotas across the Division. Specifically, the post holder will compile and disseminate rotas for the Division’s medical staff, and act as a single point of contact for the juniors.
· To assist the Division in reducing temporary spend through implementation of more effective control mechanisms and advance planning of locum cover. To partner with Medical Staffing, Litmus and Finance to monitor locum spend and be responsible for reporting of temporary pay spend.
· To provide shape and direction on a Trust basis for best practice in rota coordination.
· To ensure Consultants are accountable for compiling a safe medical rota updates and the post holder to ensure all staff have adequate notice and the service can plan for its expected demand and capacity.

Essential criteria
- • Dealing with patients and handling difficult situations. Recent experience of working in a complex organisation
- • Significant experience of complex staff scheduling.
- • Experience of co-ordinating complex and sensitive HR issues.
- • Working in a highly pressurised environment.
- • Experience of working within the healthcare sector.
Desirable criteria
- • Understanding of the structure of an NHS organisation.
- • Experience of working with medical staff and medical rotas.
- • Undertaking a similar role.
- • Knowledge of New Deal and EWTD.
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- • Management/Business/Administration degree or proven management experience at equivalent level.
