Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to apply for the role of an MDT (Multidisciplinary Team) Co-ordinator at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.  

Do you have excellent administration skills, a good eye for detail and the tenacity to ‘go that extra mile’ and be the ‘backstage navigator’ representing patients who have been referred to hospital?  

This is part time- 30hours per week, fixed term/secondment post until 31/10/2025.

Main duties of the job

You will be working closely with clinical teams, helping to identify patients who are required for discussion at MDT meetings.

As an MDT Coordinator you will play a vital role by tracking the patient’s journey by ensuring all relevant tests and appointments are booked as quickly as possible.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Working in a busy and dynamic work environment, as part of a large team.
  • Communication with stakeholders across different clinical teams and specialties
  • Using initiative to prioritise own workload.
  • Working to tight deadlines without losing attention to detail.
  • Minute taking
Desirable criteria
  • Previous MDT or similar patient tracker/pathway co- ordinator role.
  • Use of core Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Gynaecology knowledge & experience.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of a range of administrative & clinical procedures.
  • Confidentiality & data protection
  • Customer service
Desirable criteria
  • MHRA guidelines of MOM
  • Knowledge of data analysis software & computer systems

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE grade 5/c or equivalent in Math’s & English.
  • Advanced level NVQ in health & social studies or equivalent experience.
Desirable criteria
  • Any relevant vocational qualifications (e.g. NVQ)
